Each Mouaire garment is meticulously handcrafted in Belgium, using only the most exquisite ultra fine mohair. This rare fiber, prized for its exceptional lightness, softness, and natural luster, deserves the utmost care.

 

To preserve the beauty, shape, and longevity of your knitwear, we invite you to follow the guidelines below:

1. Wear Gently

Mohair and silk is naturally durable but delicate in texture. Treat your sweater with care to avoid snagging on jewelry or rough surfaces.

2. Air Out Between Wears

Ultra fine mohair is naturally breathable and odor-resistant. Instead of frequent washing, simply air out your sweater by laying it flat in a shaded area. This helps maintain the fiber’s integrity and shape.

3. Washing (Only When Needed)

We recommend hand washing only when absolutely necessary.

Fill a clean basin with lukewarm water and a small amount of mild wool detergent.
Submerge the sweater gently, avoiding any wringing or scrubbing.
Let soak for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly in cool water.

4. Drying

Gently press out excess water using a clean towel, never wring or twist.
Reshape your sweater and lay flat to dry on a towel away from direct heat or sunlight.
Do not hang to dry, as this may stretch the fibers.

5. Storage

Store your knitwear folded in a breathable cotton bag or on a shelf, never on a hanger, which can distort its shape.
For seasonal storage, add natural moth repellents like cedar balls or lavender sachets.

6. Pilling

Some pilling may occur with wear, this is normal for fine mohair. Use a gentle fabric comb or mohair brush to lightly remove pills without damaging the fibers.
